Water Pressure Regulator
Water Pressure is force of water pushing on a unit of area measured in pounds per square inch (psi). A pressure regulator is a plumbing safety feature which is designed to prevent water pressure from climbing too high while also ensuring that the pressure remains high enough for consistent flow from faucets, taps, and shower heads.
A pressure regulator is basically a valve which controls the level of water pressure to ensure that it is effective and safe. Once installed it can be used to increase and/or decrease the pressure by manipulating an adjustable dial. Excessive pressure results in leaks, eroded washers, banging pipes, and even explosions in extreme cases.
